Talk of the Town

One of the biggest segments on watches is dive watches. Here at Luca and Romeo we understand your love for scuba diving. We know that after a long week at the office, you’re dying to fire up the private jet and hit the Galapagos Islands. So we put together our picks of the 5 best dive watches under $1000 (We decided on $1000 so you have some money left over to gas up the jet).

Citizen Promaster Dive 44MM Solar - BN0150-28E
Citizen

Citizen Makes a Splash

The Promaster Dive 44mm, is apart of Citizen’s flagship dive watch line. It’s equipped with Citizen’s patented Eco-Drive solar technology, 200mm water resistance, and a stainless steel case. It comes on a polyurethane strap which makes it a comfortable all-day wear rather wet or dry.

The Citizen Promaster Dive 44mm is priced at $375.

Tissot Seastar 1000 40MM Quartz - T1204102205100
Swatch/Tissot

A Star in the Deepest Sea

The Tissot Seastar brings a harmonious marriage of elegance and technology. It features 300 meters of water resistance, a uni-directional rotating bezel, and Super-Luminova for low light viewing. It also has the added flexibility of interchangeable straps and bracelets, to match any occasion.

The Tissot Seastar is priced at $475.

MIDO Ocean Star 200
Mido

The Ocean's Brightest

This sporty Swiss watch is water resistant up to 200 meters of water resistance, an automatic movement with 80 hours of power reserve, and a case shape that provides extra protection for the screw down crown.

The MIDO Ocean Star 200 is priced at $980.

Squale 1545 Grey Bracelet
Squale

The Odd Ball

The Squale 1545 may be a bit off the beaten path, but it shouldn’t be.

It features the automatic Selita SW200-1 movement (which hacks and hand winds), 300 meters of water resistance, and a solid screwdown caseback. There are many dial combinations, but our personal pick is the grey dial with orange accents.

You can pick up the Squale 1545 for $910.

Marathon 36mm MSAR® QUARTZ
Marathon

Small but Mighty

The Marathon TSAR is a smaller version of the Marathon dive watches. By the way, MSAR stands for Medium Search And Rescue. Marathon is a Canadian company that produces watches to the Canadian and U.S. militaries.

The TSAR features 300 meters of water resistance and a 3 jeweled quartz movement. However, the coolest feature is the tritium gas tubes used on the hour markers along with the seconds and minute hand. These are self-illuminating gas tubes that contain an isotope of hydrogen. That’s a long way of saying that the illumination will not dull down in brightness like normal painted lume.

The Marathon 41MM TSAR Quartz, is priced at $900.
